Welcome to Source of Steel - The Heavy Metal Museum. For the metal head who likes to own or collect physical CDs, Source of Steel is my website dedicated to the love of physical metal on shiny plastic discs. Micro-reviews, thoughts, pics of my own collection and random utterances are abound. The site started out purely as a way of sharing my rarities to like-minded fans, but now (for longevity's sake more than anything) it is open to new physical metal music bits I've picked up, including new releases and other random shit.

Acrophet - Faded Glory

2nd (and final) album by these US thrashers. This is an original pressing on CD by Roadracer Records (courtesy of Triple X).

Crypticus - Dedicated to the Impure

Debut album from this awesome US death metal band. This is an original press on Razorback Records, now out of print. If you look carefully, you can see it's been autographed by Patrick Bruss (vocals/guitar/bass) on the front cover.

Toxodeth - Mysteries About Life and Death

Some weird shit here. Debut album from these Mexicans, who play a really strange style of death metal, with lots of guitar theatrics and odd riffage. Weak production, but a great album none-the-less. An original pressing on Wild Rags.

Inverted - The Shadowland / There Can Be Only One

The only two releases from these Swedish death metal mutants. Pretty decent stuff, though not always consistent. The Shadowland is the better out of the two in my opinion. Both released on Shiver Records.

Repugnant - Hecatomb E.P

Awesome Swedish death metal from the new generation. CD release on Unveiling the Wicked (Hammerheart) and now out of print.

Paradise Lost - At the BBC (BBC Sessions)

Quite hard to come across these days, this is a compilation of Paradise Lost's early to mid-period sessions at the BBC. Pretty good!
